At Bear Mountain Strength and Fitness, all athletes who are new to CrossFit begin by working 1-on-1 with one of our coaches. We make a tremendous investment in each of our new athletes to establish a strong foundation and help you to be successful.

Step 3

Successful completion of the Foundations Course earns you the privilege to attend classes with Cortlandt Manor’s most tight-knit fitness community. Our class sizes are kept small and our coaching staff, one of the highest-credentialed CrossFit staffs worldwide, offers a semi-private training experience in every class.

We understand that just getting to the door can be intimidating and that everyone is starting in a different place. The only expectation is that you commit to giving us 100% of your best effort. In return, we commit to giving you world class coaching in a small group setting, maximizing your valuable workout time, and making REAL IMPROVEMENT in your fitness. We genuinely care about each of our athletes and are obsessed with keeping you safe and progressing toward your goals. You will not find a more welcoming or caring community in which to work on your fitness. We unfailingly support one another in the pursuit of better versions of ourselves.

What does day-to-day look like at Bear Mountain Strength And Fitness?

Unlike the traditional gym setting, a coach is present to both teach and observe during EVERY class. Coaches review all movements whether you’re a first-timer or a long-time Strength and Fitness veteran. This review ensures movements are performed properly to limit errors in form and avoid injuries. In-class coaches also aid in scaling any movement to accommodate your fitness level. Workouts, warm-ups, and strength conditioning plans are posted daily to this website for your convenience.

Step 1
No Sweat Intro

Schedule a complimentary consultation at time convenient for you.

This will give you a chance to see our gym, meet our coaches, and get a general feel for Bear Mountain Strength and Fitness. This is your time to ask questions, types of workout/movements we do, services offered, and/or anything else you’d like to know. Typically these meetings are less than 30 minutes and are one on one with our friendly and knowledgeable coaches.

If you left your No Sweat Intro feeling motivated and excited than its time for step two.

Step 2
New Athlete Program

New Athlete Program is required for all members who are planning to attend our CrossFit classes. Our program consists of private one on one sessions with a coach. During your sessions you will learn the basics of CrossFit fundamental movements and proper lifting techniques.

We require the New Athlete Program to ensure you know the basics of lifting techniques, establish your lifting ability, physical baseline, avoid injuries, and work out effectively.

If you do not want to do the Prep Course at this time, but still want to join. You have the option to attend our Personal Training sessions.

After you decided which type of classes you want, and are ready for membership move on to step three.
